Description
The System Test Design Lead (TDL) champions product calibration and test strategy while balancing tradeoffs between quality / customer experience and operational requirements (assembly/test processes and costs). The TDL integrates with various teams across design, software, and operations on new product definition to enable product characterization and provide optimal test solutions for manufacturing. We are looking for leaders that are able to proactively lead convergence & maturity of the product calibration & test line through all system builds phases; see around corners, identify potential risks, and develop product protection solutions / risk assessments where needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, EE/CE degree preferred, plus 5-10yrs experience
Excellent understanding of hardware/software architecture and interoperability of complex systems.
Prior experience with integration of one or more of the following technologies: sensing (motion, touch), transducers, imaging, displays, electrical interconnect and protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc..).
Have an understanding of physics and electronics; is capable of applying creativity, common sense, and technical skills to solve complex problems.
Exceptional problem solving ability.
Prior technical leadership and/or project management experience with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to travel domestic (if required by home location,~3day trips) and internationally 5-10% of the time in 7-10 day trips.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FMEA and FA processes - root-cause investigations of issues and recommendations for design improvements.
Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods.
Engineering build leadership, ownership for factory cal/test strategy and bringup interfacing with factory teams.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
