The Localization Automation Team is responsible for developing tools and technologies that allow Apple to localize and ship products such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, and more across the world.
We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to take our localization process to the next level. You will be in charge of a crucial process that impacts every product with the objective of making it even better. You will also develop new tools and applications to enhance Apple's localization technologies.
Description
The environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously and to manage to aggressive delivery schedules. Suitable candidates should have a strong background in Computer Science, excellent problem solving skills and passion to improve existing processes and tools. The right mix of technical, organizational, and communication skills is key to success. Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage priorities are essential.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing and improving back-end web services
- Working cross-functionally with teams across Engineering to add support for new software features
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex software integration issues
Minimum Qualifications
Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
A technical background in UNIX commands in Terminal
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
Interest and background in translation, internationalization, localization, and international markets
Experience with back-end frameworks (e.g. Ruby on Rails, Django)
Experience with databases and indexing (e.g. Cassandra, SQL, Solr)
Native level foreign language skills in reading, writing and speaking
Familiarity with version control systems such as subversion or git
A track record of shipping products
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
