The Video Engineering organization is working on exciting technologies for future Apple products. Our focus is on ML based solutions around real time image and video. We have contributed to the FaceID and FaceKit project in the past and more recently to the new Apple Vision Pro. We are looking for the right Engineer to help us take our efforts to the next level. In this role, you will work together with similar minds in a unique development team where your skills and expertise will be put into the Apple products. This role is highly multi-functional and you will work very closely with various highly skilled software development / ML teams developing groundbreaking algorithms.
Description
The imaging scientist will work in a dynamic team as part of the Video Engineering organization which develops on-device computer vision and machine perception technologies across Apple’s products. We balance research and product to deliver the highest quality, state-of-the-art experiences, innovating through the full stack, and partnering with cross-functional teams to influence what brings our vision to life and into customers hands.

Minimum Qualifications
BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or a related field (mathematics, physics or computer engineering), with a focus on computer vision and/or machine learning.
Rich experiences in video machine learning covering one of the topics: Agentic AI / Video Generation / Video Generative Editing
Publication record in relevant venues (e.g. NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, SIGGRAPH)
Industry experiences with multi-modal foundation model and frameworks
Knowledge and understanding of generative AI, multi-modal large language model, video caption
Solid understanding of state-of-the-arts in Video Understanding and familiar with the challenges of developing algorithms that run efficiently on resource constrained platforms
Proven prototyping skills and proficient in coding (C, C++, Python)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, be comfortable presenting research to large audiences, and have the ability to work hands-on in multi-functional teams
Team oriented, result oriented, and self motivated
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
