The JavaScript team seeks a Software Engineering Manager with deep compiler and virtual machine expertise, ready to support the world's fastest and best JavaScript and WebAssembly VM. The JavaScriptCore framework powers many system applications and services, including WebKit clients like Safari, Mail, and Books; and direct clients like iTunes and Siri. Description
The role of the JavaScriptCore Manager is to manage individual contributors, cross-functional projects, and potentially other projects in order to develop new features and evolve the JavaScriptCore VM to deliver better performance, improved security, new language features, better developer tools support, and other improvements. Additional responsibilities may include driving low-level security and performance improvements in WebKit and throughout Apple’s operating systems.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in computer science or equivalent (equivalent credential or software exeprience)
Experience with mentoring, career development, project planning, and executive reporting!
Detailed knowledge of system development in C++
Excellent debugging, critical thinking, and performance analysis skills
Experience with compilers, parsers, interpreters, and virtual machines
Experience with assembly-level programming
Preferred Qualifications
Detailed knowledge of the JavaScript language
Detailed knowledge of the WebAssembly language
Knowledge of best practices in embedded software security
Experience with garbage collectors
Experience with open source software development
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
