We are the wireless lab services team, and we provide support for many labs and teams within the Sensing & Connectivity organization. A successful Lab Services Engineer will work alongside Engineers and Vendors to assist in the successful release of future products, including unreleased Hardware and Software. Your responsibilities will include support of new and existing buildings, labs, hardware, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies on internal processes with great impact. This position will provide the opportunity to work with the latest Apple hardware and software and be part of a critical organization within Apple, with growth and development potential in Software and/or HW.
Description
Help to manage, maintain and organize lab work spaces that drive coverage across multiple technologies. Prepare Apple devices and systems for testing (including setup, software install, testing, debugging, repairing systems). Manage inventory of test equipment and track location of items across geographies. Strong teamwork ethic and communications as we work with many different teams and vendors, including everything from security to HVAC to engineering (both Software and HW), and everything in-between. Interact with Hardware & Software prototypes and components including supporting test setups, debug sessions, etc. Constantly moving lab support systems forward by iterating current process to make them more efficient. Use of ARD, SSH, Telnet and other CLI to manage remote machine and devices. Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience troubleshooting Apple products, both software and hardware
Experience in administering macOS & iOS
Vendor Management skills
Ability to script and/or write automation to improve efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with disassembly/assembly of Apple products
You are innovative, flexible, and results oriented with a positive attitude
Knowledge of wireless technologies, and/or networking a plus
Ability to context switch quickly and frequently
Strong ability to prioritize workloads with attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Thrive in a collaborative environment and comfortable working with multi-functional teams
Proficiency in Python, Swift and/or C/C++ a plus
Repair certifications for Apple hardware and software a plus
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,300 and $195,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
