Swift is looking for an Open Source Community Product Manager to build the community management function at scale. You would lead community efforts in developing new initiates and programs to support continued growth of Swift across platforms, use cases, and the increasing contributor base. You would join Apple’s Open Source Program Office (OSPO), a passionate, collaborative, and distributed team that partners Apple-wide to support open source strategy and operations. As an open source community builder, you know how to strike a balance of passion and pragmatism. You thrive on building sustainable programs that promote belonging. Drawing from your experience, you’ll lead initiatives that drive engagement, foster collaboration, and bring in new community members to the Swift programming language and the existing ecosystem.
As we build out the ecosystem for Swift, you will need to be with comfortable with open source community building, operations, program management, events, and moderation. Ensuring Swift has a welcoming, positive, and inclusive community and ecosystem is a key aspect to this role. You’ll engage with developers and contributors all over the world over GitHub, forums.swift.org, many other platforms and at events while building out new channels.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of open source project, programs, or product management focusing on community and ecosystem development
Experience building community, ecosystem, and/or contributor programs for at least one open source project
Understand governance and incentive structures of open source projects
Organized, promoted, and run developer-focused events to drive awareness, collaboration, and adoption
Familiar with gathering and reporting metrics for community engagement, and converting feedback to meaningful items for internal partners
Built or driven moderation programs and/or code of conduct projects
Ability to manage multiple stakeholder interests and balance the needs of many
Demonstrated great communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to technical and non-technical audiences
You exude strong collaboration skills, including the ability to mentor and be mentored.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
