As an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) supporting the Softgoods Program Management organization, you will be responsible for the technical management and support of engineering development for watch bands. The successful candidate will use a solid engineering background to drive day-to-day activities with the team to meet the top level program objectives. The Softgoods EPM focuses on product engineering design, managing development planning and validation cycles.
Description
Enable efficient development by creating and maintaining a streamlined process, capturing parallel designs and clear paths to closure with owners for each action item Collaborate and facilitate communication across engineering, operations, industrial design, and our vendor partners to meet aggressive cost, schedule, and quality goals Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs. Drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision-making to meet overall project objectives Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focus on top level objectives and develop a better course of action Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shift Create and maintain detailed project schedules for key enclosure and mechanical components, respond quickly to changes Understand system-level part interactions, manage a plan to provide key combinations into reliability testing to validate system performance Coordinate cosmetic and functional partial unit builds for key reviews and early testing
Minimum Qualifications
BS engineering degree required
2-6+ years of project management experience
Preferred Qualifications
etailed knowledge of product development cycles
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Experience interfacing with Mechanical Engineering/Design, Operations, and Vendors
Experienced in setting up project schedules and work breakdown structures
Excellent communication, presentation, organizational and leadership skills
Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience
Self motivated and proactive, demonstrating creative and critical thinking capabilities
Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity
Ability to travel internationally to support builds (up to 20%)
Any of the following is also a plus:
Experience as a practicing engineer
Experience in textile / wearable products

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $248,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
