Quantum Applied Science Research Lab Manager

NVIDIA is looking for a lab manager to join our quantum computing organization. In this role, you will build, manage, and maintain innovative computing systems in an R&D environment to create next-generation technology. You will lead a team responsible for provisioning powerful software and hardware platforms, and working together with strategic technology partners as well as NVIDIA researchers to enable quantum computing breakthroughs.

What you will be doing:

• Work closely with research, engineering and architecture teams to understand, plan and use clusters for validating and testing new technology.

• Collaborate with external partners.

• Manage daily operation and support within our applied research lab.

• Perform troubleshooting - network, operating system and user software.

• Build, expand, and mentor the team to address growing demands and requirements.

• Innovate! Influence NVIDIA and partner technologies based on takeaways within the lab.

What we need to see:

• A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of managerial experience.

• 10+ years of relevant overall professional experience.

• Dedication to maximizing system up-time / user-productivity with innovative and timely solutions for addressing issues with preproduction or first gen HW and SW

• Experience in Data center management from a multidisciplinary company or research center, including handling power, cooling, space, and user environments.

• Deep understanding of operating systems, computer networks, and high-performance hardware and software in scientific computing.

• Deep knowledge of distributed resource scheduling systems and orchestration tools such as Slurm, K8s.

• Excellent organizational and project management skills, comfortable with multitasking in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Knowledge of HPC and AI solution technologies from CPUs and GPUs to high-speed interconnects and supporting software

• Familiarity with CUDA and GPU-accelerated computing systems

• Familiarity with quantum technologies

The base salary range is 248,000 USD - 442,750 USD.
