As part of the Health Strategic Initiatives team, Apple is looking for an individual who will partner with team members across the company to develop health products. Candidates must possess deep subject matter expertise in cognition including cognitive assessments, cognitive risk identification, cognitive performance, and cognitive treatments across both healthy populations and those with disease. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to build innovative consumer-focused features, is effective at executing detailed deliverables on time, is capable of working closely with cross-functional teams, engages in open discussion and debate well, and is not afraid of a challenge.

Description

• Conduct thorough literature reviews and summarize key points • Define current guidelines and standards of care and identify gaps in current standards of care • Identify and describe the currently available assessments, their strengths, and limitations and what is needed to best assess cognition • Create clinical protocols and distill protocols and knowledge into requirements and principles that inform product development • Partner with engineering teams to support algorithm development including the design of feasibility studies • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on clinical product development • Communicate and manage relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders • Anticipate, adjust for, and communicate problems, risks, and roadblocks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Background in clinical neuroscience, clinical neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry, or neurology with focus on preventive neurology or cognition
  • 2-3 years of experience focused on cognition with demonstrated interest / desire to understand cognitive performance and cognitive risks across all spectrums of individuals including young, elderly, and those with or without disease

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product experience or experience working in companies with regulated medical products or digital health products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to simplify complex clinical concepts and communicate these to non-medical team members.
  • Independent self-starter who thrives in complex and ambiguous environments
