DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a world class partner and alliance leader to join the WW Security, CloudOps, Resilience Partner Specialists team.

Your responsibilities as the WW Observability Partner Specialist Lead will be to deliver game-changing solutions that drive highly differentiated outcomes for observability. You will act as a hands-on domain strategist developing WW partner strategy for observability. You will identify strategic growth opportunities across all customer industry segments and translate them into specialization programs, sales plays, signature benefits, and innovative scale mechanisms that enable Partners of all types (G/SI, ISV) to build, market and sell with AWS managed and 3rd party on AWS services integrated into their offerings. Your focus will be on scaling the AWS observability value proposition through partners across all aspect of observability.

You will closely work with the AWS service teams, partner managers across the AWS Partner Network as well as AWS sales teams to set strategy globally and execute in all respective geographies. You will also serve as the main interface to internal service and sales organizations for observability demand signals from regional and partner teams, translating them to opportunistic scale strategies.

You will possess the business background that enables you to engage at the executive level, have the channel experience to understand the needs and capabilities of all partners, and the sales background to easily interact with customers and sales/field reps. You should think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges related to observability, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions.

Your expertise should span across various aspects of observability, including metrics, logs, traces, and the latest trends in cloud-native observability solutions. You should be familiar with AWS observability services, as well as popular third-party tools in the market, and understand how these can be leveraged to create comprehensive observability strategies for partners and customers.


Key job responsibilities
• Develop strategic relationships and go-to-market (GTM) plans with SI and ISV partners to help them build their business and drive revenue with Observability solutions
• Shape and drive creative, scalable program adoption and GTM initiatives to accelerate observability service adoption on AWS
• Identify specific customer segments and industries to approach with a joint value proposition for implementing comprehensive observability strategies with partners
• Understand the technical and capability requirements of partners in the observability domain and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings
• Prepare and give business reviews to the senior executive management team, focusing on observability trends, partner performance, and market opportunities
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in observability technologies, including APM, infrastructure monitoring, log analytics, and distributed tracing, to ensure AWS and partner offerings remain competitive
• Collaborate with AWS observability service teams to align partner strategies with product roadmaps and new feature releases

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- 5+ years of experience growing observability, monitoring, or related services or products
- 5+ years demonstrating ability to exceed sales, business development, or alliance management goals
- 5+ years' experience working and communicating with cross-functional stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
- Experience with cloud-based observability technologies and practices (e.g., APM, infrastructure monitoring, log analytics, distributed tracing)
- Experience with Partner Sales motions, Partner Go To Market activities, and Partner Incentives in the observability space
- Familiarity with major observability platforms and tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, Elastic Stack)
- Knowledge of AWS observability services (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray, Prometheus)
- 10+ years of sales, business development, or alliance management experience in software/tech, with a focus on observability or monitoring solutions

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
