The Intelligent System Experience (ISE) Incubation team is looking to hire a leader to help the team turn creative ideas into innovative new products and features. We are a diverse team of platform engineers, ML engineers, and designers that take big, fuzzy ideas about what might be possible, and then turn them into concrete prototypes and livable software.
This role is best suited somebody who excels at the intersection of technology, creativity, and user experience. While a solid technical foundation is important, this position does not primarily involve managing heavy machine learning or software engineering tasks. Instead, the emphasis is on guiding a team to generate and prototype innovative ideas, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and iterating on concepts to deliver transformative experiences for Apple users.
Description
We are looking for somebody who has a strong opinion about what makes for unique and compelling ideas, and can help guide a team in making those ideas real. A successful candidate will be able to live at the intersection of technology and experience. They will need to understand which technologies are worth developing because they could offer powerful new experiences to our users - and how to push for unique, compelling new experiences that push technology forward.
We work across organizational scales, internally with small teams, across our entire team, and across the company.
The products we build are part prototype, part proof of concept and part sales pitch, so clear communication, understanding of current platform capabilities, cutting edge ML technology, a design sense, and an ability to advocate for ideas and for the team are all key skills for this role.
Minimum Qualifications
Any level of project leadership or management experience
Experience with Apple platforms - including a general understanding of the design paradigms, general technologies & capabilities available.
Understanding of ML fundamentals
Communication across diverse skill sets and an ability to communicate effectively with designers, engineers, and executives
Experience moving an idea or concept from ideation through prototyping to decision making, even if not in a leadership role
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of leadership or management experience, including growing teams with diverse skill sets.
Any deeper experience in Apple platform technologies, experience with cutting edge language or vision ML technologies, or a design background. We understand you may not have depth in all these areas, so extra knowledge in any of them would be great!
Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent skills and work experience
This role requires a diverse skillset and leading a team to create innovative products. A background in software engineering fundamentals would be ideal, but if you can show a creative vision for the future of our products, we’d love to talk to you.
