Description
The goal of Maps Search team is to take Apple’s Maps to the next level of intelligence and accuracy using machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques. Engineers and scientists on our team work on a wide spectrum of approaches to improve search experiences on Apple Maps.
In this role, some of the projects you will contribute to include but are not limited to:
* Developing ML/GenAI platform foundations at scale.
* Partnering and enabling other team members and Apple organizations to develop, evaluate and release algorithms, models and features based on our solutions.
* Building solutions which further the accuracy, quality and performance of our Search features and products.

Minimum Qualifications
MS in Computer Science or equivalent field with 7+ years of direct systems architecture experience
Proven experience in Generative AI/LLMs/Machine learning in information retrieval domain such as search engines, natural language processing, or similar areas
Strong programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python
Strong track record of execution and delivery
Deliver as a technical team lead; guiding a set of engineers and research scientists
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with partner teams and communicate specs and roadmaps to product management through an executive audience
Preferred Qualifications
PhD with focus on applied research in Computer/Data Science fields
Desire to tackle meaningful problems which lie at the intersection of user-experience and computational algorithms
Proven experience building robust decision support systems which can support growing requirements for AIML and GenAI applications at scale.

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
