Tesla is on a path to build humanoid robots at scale to automate repetitive and boring tasks. Battery Mechanical Design Engineers on Optimus have to rethink how future autonomous humanoid robots will be powered. Design requirements for steady-state Optimus usage are still in their infancy, so this role requires strong mechanical fundamentals to release and ramp parts.
As a Mechanical Engineer on Tesla’s Optimus Battery team, you may also be tasked with cell selection, form factor definition, abuse prevention, and many more yet-undiscovered engineering problems, so a breadth of engineering disciplines is necessary. You will join a branch of the Automotive team tasked with injecting Tesla’s state-of-art Automotive EV battery technology into the humanoid form factor. Collaborating with world-class Battery Engineers and Bot Designers, you will define how the world’s first mass scale humanoid bot program will be designed and powered.
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$104,000 - $174,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
