What to Expect

As a Simulation Infrastructure Engineer on the High Voltage Systems team, you will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge simulations to help accelerate the development of new products and features for Tesla vehicles. By working on simulations, the team gets the opportunity to work on development and bringup of new features and products before the hardware exists to support them. In this role, software engineering meets electrical engineering as you write powerful and scalable software that simulates complex electrical and electrochemical systems. What You’ll Do
  • Design scalable solutions to support simulating and testing software for a growing fleet of vehicle products
  • Work with various cross-functional teams to develop requirements and test plans for new features and algorithms
  • Develop scalable software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) infrastructure for rapid prototyping, simulation, and validation
  • Develop and enhance existing battery and hardware models to ensure simulations are representative of the real-world
  • Design simulation frameworks and models that are flexible to being used across many teams at Tesla
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, etc. or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
  • 1+ years of relevant experience (firmware engineer, embedded systems development and/or validation, etc.)
  • Proficiency in C++ as well as Python or other scripting languages
  • Strong software fundamentals
  • Preferred: Experience testing, debugging, and working directly with hardware
  • Preferred: Experience with control systems
  • Preferred: Experience with MATLAB and/or Simulink and modeling electrical systems

    Expected Compensation

    $120,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
