Support & coordinate daily work activities ensuring high quality/safe operations in Vehicle Engineering Pilot team. Engineering Technicians are responsible to validate new designs for manufacturability, supporting new product launch schedules and maintain continuity of operations in prototype shop or newly developed work cells, consistently works to optimize process efficiency from beta builds through Ramp up of Vehicle Production. Lead or support novel process development, and equipment fabrication, installation and commissioning.
What You’ll Do
Motor installation, debugging and commissioning in automation production environment
Create and validate processes/equipment that solve for safety/ergonomics, manufacturability, quality, production rate, cost efficiency
Expert in the group you oversee the ins and out of your group, understand vehicle stacking order, capable of performing standardized work for all the stations with quality and within Takt
Ability to identify concerns and assess risk as well as provide creative countermeasure
Evaluate new parts and provide feedback to design on how to improve
Fabrication and machining of jigs, fixtures and prototype parts
What You’ll Bring
Practical working knowledge of; process sheets, torque checks, weld tip change, weld stud check, adhesive application patterns, datum pin requirement, sensor verification schedules & safety (PPE, manual & auto cell lock-out)
Must be shift flexible w/high commitment & ability to work variable schedule including daily/weekend overtime as needed
Ability to repeat physical/mental activities, accuracy of work, including responsible time management & prioritization skills
Problem solving skills that includes root cause analysis, implementing countermeasures and following up to ensure effectiveness and a demonstrated open mind, there is more than one solution
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and speak in front of groups
Experience with and/or ability to learn key systems/programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Enovia/Catia/Delmia, Proplanner/Vizendo, MRT/Jira, MES/MOS
