Electrical Draftsman, CAD Design Technician

What You’ll Do
  • Support engineers by translating concepts into high-quality CAD models

  • Develop detailed 3D assembly models and 2D electrical drawings for large-scale equipment

  • Create precise electrical schematics and cabinet layouts in accordance with industry standards (e.g., UL508A)

  • Generate assembly and installation drawings for electrical enclosures and cabinets, ensuring they meet engineering standards

  • Track redlines and modifications diligently to maintain accurate digital twins of equipment and systems 

  • Utilize CAD models to create detailed BOMs (Bills of Materials) that reflect up-to-date designs

  • Maintain and manage CAD libraries, ensuring consistency and alignment with PDM/PLM systems

  • Develop and sustain macros and templates that enhance the team's workflow and efficiency

  • Assist in preparing machinery maintenance manuals, service documentation, and spare parts kits

  • Work with CAD consultants to develop Macros and templates to improve process 

What You’ll Bring
  • A minimum of 3 years or 1,000 hours of professional experience using AutoCAD or EPlan software

  • Proven ability to create detailed 2D electrical schematics and convert them into accurate 3D panel layouts for complex systems

  • Familiarity with electrical engineering principles, and industry standards such as UL508A, NFPA70 and NFPA79

  • Experience producing comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for automated machinery and electrical equipment

  • Strong knowledge of PDM/PLM systems for streamlining design and documentation processes

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)

  • Practical experience with industrial equipment, test systems, and components such as Pilz safety controllers, contactors, power supplies, and IO modules

  • Competent in reading and interpreting electrical schematics

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field, or equivalent proven experience
