What to Expect
Tesla Bot Actuator Team designs and builds electromechanical actuators for the humanoid robot program (Tesla Bot). This role is critical to the development of high-performance electromechanical rotary and linear actuator systems for Tesla Bot. The Proto Production Technician will join the team to assemble the most torque and power dense humanoid actuators in the world. Proto Production Technicians within the Actuator Proto Production Team will work closely with manufacturing and design engineering and will be responsible for providing direct feedback to improve assembly process and design. The successful candidate for this position must have experience with assembly of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems. Must be a self-starter and able to figure out how to do things independently.
What You’ll Do
  • Read assembly process instructions and execute accordingly
  • Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Assembly of actuators on prototype assembly line
  • End-of-line testing of actuators on prototype assembly line
  • Using manual and semi-auto pressing equipment, torque tools, etc
  • Soldering, applying thermal interface material, and wire stripping
  • Basic measurements of mechanical and electrical components/subsystems
  • Providing feedback to engineering on suggested process and design improvements to increase efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to root cause and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
  • Documenting build issues and deviations
What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ year experience in the field of manufacturing assembly of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems; associate degree preferred
  • Highly motivated, willing to learn on the job
  • Comfortable to work in an industrial environment (90% indoor)
  • Analytical problem-solving skills & root cause analysis
  • Ability to read drawings, interpret metric/imperial tolerances
  • MS Office – including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook highly preferred
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence preferred

    Expected Compensation

    $24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
