Join Tesla in creating robust, beautiful, data-centric automated machines. As a Manufacturing Test & Equipment Engineering Technician, you will work alongside Engineers to develop testing equipment for batteries and power electronics components in our vehicles, and energy products This team specifically develops custom, high-power, automated testing equipment for our production lines around the world.
What You’ll Do
Participate in initial equipment conceptual development
Interact with various mechanical, electrical, and software Engineers throughout project
Modify electrical enclosures and panels (drilling and cutting)
Electrical/control panel wiring
Fixture and frame assembly (Aluminum extrusions, 80/20)
Generate aesthetically simple looking wire routing and builds
Pickup packages, and support delivery of testing equipment to contract manufacturers
What You’ll Bring
2+ years hands-on experience building/wiring up various hardware
Exposure to a variety of mechanical systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment
Ability to follow mechanical drawings
Experience with using test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Variable DC power supplies, etc.)
Experience with fixture assemblies
Must be comfortable around High Voltage
Ability to use basic shop tools required (drill press, band saw, etc.)
Must be able to solder and crimp both large and small components
Experience with cable management and wire routing a plus
