In this role, your responsibilities will include: * Setting the agenda for security projects to safeguard FaceTime and Phone calls. * Maximizing our team effectiveness by mentoring our high growth employees to succeed in lead roles. * Making the right strategic technology decisions. Strengthening security while creating great user experiences, including sufficient backwards compatibility. * Shaping product direction by developing vision and building relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders, including: peer engineering teams, the design team, senior software leadership, and the product marketing team. This team has a duty to shape and drive FaceTime’s private and secure calling experience. We fulfill our duty by caring deeply, living on our software, developing defensible opinions on what to keep / what to change, and having empathy for the countless users in the world who rely on us every day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • You possess strong software development and architecture design skills with a focus on secure system design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have strong understanding of secure coding practices, security protocols, and encryption techniques. Familiarity with cryptography standards is a plus (e.g. Secure Frame, Integrated Encryption Scheme, Messaging Layer Security).
  • You have familiarity with peer-to-peer or client-server architecture and network protocols.
  • You have experience with secure communication protocols, especially in handling untrusted data.

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
