Description
The Core Firmware team is seeking a systems software engineer to extend and improve the performance, cross-product consistency, and general user experience of Apple firmware. We are responsible for securely loading Apple operating systems and OS updaters. Additionally, we develop firmware-based solutions that help users continue to leverage iPhone and Apple Watch features such as Find My, Express Transit Card, and digital key fob when battery levels are too low to run the OS. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class engineers who are shaping the future of device security and robustness for all Apple products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with firmware, device-driver, and/or kernel-level development
- Experience with C
- Knowledge of unit, integration, and system testing approaches and how to apply them
- A passion for delivering high-quality, innovative software
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- BS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Knowledge of modern processor architectures and supporting hardware
- Experience with real-time operating systems
- Experience with C++ and Python 3
