Do something different! We are looking for an outstanding Display Engineer to join our dynamic In-cell Optics team within the Apple Display Organization. As a key member of our multi-functional team, you will collaborate closely with design, process, and module teams to develop and validate advanced optical models to enable the seamless integration of Apple displays and sensors. Your expertise will be instrumental in applying these models to drive innovation, optimize module performance, support the engineering of world-class products, and shape the future of our product roadmap.
Description
- Own the model development, tuning, and performance projection for display characteristics, encompassing metrics such as transmission, reflection, and directional emission.
- Develop computational models to project optical behavior in complex physical systems, applying your expertise and intuition to make appropriate approximations that strike a balance between accuracy and computational efficiency.
- Deeply engage with display and sensor teams to understand specifications and primary performance risks.
- Collaborate with external vendors to reach performance targets and develop simulation models.
- Effectively communicate your findings in working-level and leadership meetings. Generate focused and concise material to educate, inform and persuade collaborators across the organization.
- Drive innovations by proposing new designs or processes that enable the long-term Apple Display roadmap. Work closely with all layers of leadership to bring these ideas to fruition
- Deliver results reliably in a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in display/sensor/source hardware development, including testing and validation
Experience building optical models based on geometric and wave optics
Experience in optical modeling techniques, such as TMM, Raytracing, FDTD or RCWA
Experience with coding in a high-level programming language such as Python or C++
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in OLED-display optical simulations
Working knowledge of image formation, Fourier optics, cavity optics or interferometry.
Track-record of multi-functional leadership, e.g. key DRI for new feature development in consumer products
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
