Swift is a powerful, memory-safe, general-purpose programming language that supports multiple platforms from macOS, iOS, Linux, Windows, to embedded and more. We are looking for an Open Source Content Engineer to create amazing content to drive adoption of Swift in new use cases and platforms. This role will partner with the Swift community and its various steering and workgroup stakeholders to build learning pathways through documentation, tutorials, samples, and more. You will partner with other community members to build out community architecture for future documentarians of Swift as we grow into other platforms. You would join Apple’s Open Source Program Office (OSPO), a passionate, collaborative, and distributed team that partners Apple-wide to support open source strategy and operations. If you enjoy connecting people and ideas, building community, and growing open source at scale, we'd love to hear from you!

Description

As an open source community builder, you know how to strike a balance of passion and pragmatism. You thrive on building sustainable content programs that developers, contributors, and consumers taut as high-quality documentation where the samples and tutorials “just work”. Drawing from your experience, you’ll: * lead documentation and content initiatives that bring in new community members to the Swift programming language and support the existing ecosystem * write content for swift.org, forums.swift.org, and other channels meeting the future developers of Swift where they are, and provide experienced developers with targeted content * review content changes from open source contributors and mentor / create pathways for them to contribute. A large part of this role will be interfacing with open source developers and contributors of many skill sets and backgrounds and writing Swift with them! If you don’t already know Swift, you’ll be expected to learn to prepare samples and tutorials. While there is an emphasis for new documentation and bringing in new users, this role will be responsible for being a bridge between what we have, the deltas of what’s missing, and the content opportunities of what's ahead.
