As a Traffic Engineer you will orchestrate the design and development of cutting-edge traffic proxies, libraries, and services that power Apple services at an unprecedented scale, serving hundreds of millions of users globally. Minimum Qualifications
Skilled with one or more advanced programming language such as C, C++, Rust, Java, Go, or native code languages.
Experience with automating operations (e.g., software deployments, config changes) at scale
Understanding of performance analysis and optimizations
Full product lifecycle ownership mindset (design → implementation → production)
General knowledge of large scale distributed systems
Passionate about enabling internal partner teams

Professional expertise in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking
Proven expertise with Linux network stack
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Puppet)
Passionate about working with open source projects and working across a large organization to meet Apple’s dynamic traffic needs
Experience with core production engineering best practices (e.g., designing for operability and scalability, adopting SLOs, eliminating toil).
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $197,400 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
