Do something different! Apple is looking for a world class engineer that can help identify and incubate new display technologies. You will work with both suppliers and internal teams at Apple to shape the display related technologies that go into Apple products. A successful candidate will not only need to develop new tech, but also educate a broad audience of people at Apple about their benefits and tradeoffs.
This position is focusing on the development, prototyping, and communication of display panel technologies for future Apple products. The team features a diverse engineering roster including panel engineers, optical engineers, human perception experts, product design engineers, and experimental physicists. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self motivated. A successful candidate needs to be a flexible thinker who is able to problem solve outside of their respective technical area.
Description
Evaluate and analyze trade-offs of state of the art panel designs, architecture, and related processes
Define panel technology development scope, requirements, and roadmap
Collaborate with cross functional stake-holders to establish panel requirements
Define panel electrical and optical architectures that enable the best display performance through total system optimization including pixel/panel design and process, interaction between backplane and frontplane, and frontplane architecture.
Electrical and optical characterization of displays, conduct failure analysis and define corrective action DOEs
Minimum Qualifications
BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
Experience in the development of active matrix displays or similar technologies
Experience with display technologies covering backplane and front-plane and their interdependencies
Background in display panel technology development, and panel technology integration
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in flat panel display technologies, panel design, related fabrication processes, device physics, and optoelectronics is a plus
Experience in panel testing, validation, failure analysis, and defining corrective DOEs
Proficiency in data analysis using coding languages such as Python or Matlab
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Strong presentation and communication skills

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
