As a Software QA Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and validating FileMaker products and services. This includes creating test plans, test cases, and executing manual or automated tests to ensure the software meets business and technical requirements.
Description
In this position, you will be responsible for planning, designing, maintaining, and executing test cases and automation. The role involves collaborating with team members to define requirements, implement testing processes, and effectively manage priorities while providing regular updates on progress and risks. You will work closely with colleagues to coordinate cross-functional testing efforts and collaborate with Engineering and Design as products evolve. A deep understanding of database development environments, scripting, and troubleshooting is essential. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to quickly learn new technologies.
Responsibilities include:
* Functional testing of server and client software features on iOS, macOS, Windows, and Ubuntu platforms
* Report on testing status and follow up to ensure regressions are addressed.
* Design and implementation of test plans and test cases
* Design, implementation, and execution of automated test scripts
* Risk analysis, cross-functional testing coordination, and integration testing across the system
* Investigate customer issues and triage difficult problems and work towards resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of QA experience with iOS, macOS, Windows, and/or Ubuntu
Experience in developing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automating them
Strong attention to detail in understanding, documenting, and executing test requirements
Solid understanding of development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and QA processes
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills with a passion for quality
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Python, Swift, or other object-oriented programming languages
Enthusiasm for user-focused design and delivering high-quality technology
Creative thinker and strong problem solver with meticulous attention to detail
Passion for debugging complex issues and driving results with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with development teams, management, and other organizations within Claris.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
