Apple Audio Hardware Reliability Engineering team is looking for you to work with our diverse audio hardware engineering teams. As the Reliability team, we are responsible for ensuring and improving the durability and reliability of product. To achieve that, we partner with multiple engineering teams from the beginning (concept) through the end (field returns) of a product lifecycle, while exploring new technologies and understanding how customers will use our products.

You will develop and implement creative reliability tests on new hardware programs, quantify reliability risk, support failure analysis resulting from these tests, and advise the executive team on the best path forward.

Description
- Oversee reliability testing including mechanical stress tests, shock/drop/vibration testing, environmental testing
- Develop new reliability tests procedures and specification
- Prepare concise and detailed test plans and analyzing test reports
- Statistically analyze data to provide design risk assessments
- Present tests, results, and risk assessments in a confident and positive manner to management and executive teams
- Research new technologies to understand unique failure mechanisms
- Guide design and interacting with diverse groups to improve product reliability
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering field and 3+ years of experience in a related field/industry or equivalent work experience.
Ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and curiosity of how technologies work
Capable of handling multiple projects at once
Dynamic engineer with a proactive attitude and desire to work closely with domestic and international cross-functional teams
Statistical experience such as Weibull, JMP, or familiarity with accelerated test models
Familiar with Failure Analysis techniques (Optical Microscopy, X-ray/CT, Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, etc.), and the ability to use failure analysis methodology to derive a root cause of failure
Consumer electronics experience is preferred, but not necessary
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
