The Audio and Media Technologies Group (AMT) provides the media playback UI used across many of Apple’s innovative products. The AVKit engineering team within AMT is responsible for implementing media application frameworks which support playback and editing of audiovisual media. This includes local media playback, editing, and capture, as well as video-on-demand and live streaming of multimedia content. Our UI frameworks are used across Apple products such as Safari, TV, Photos, Music, Videos, FaceTime, iMovie, and 3rd parties, across all platforms.
We are looking for an engineering manager with an excellent technical and programming background and strong leadership skills with working experience in the audiovisual domain.
Description
The AVKit engineering team is looking for an outstanding, motivated, and dedicated hands-on technical engineering manager to help design and build media playback UI for iOS and watchOS. You should have experience shipping commercial quality, consumer-oriented software. You will be required to influence and collaborate closely with other multi-functional teams to help integrate and release innovative and complex features in a fast paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer science with UI/UX focus or equivalent experience
3-5 years experience in managing in a fast-paced environment
Experience shipping high-quality commercial software with a significant UI/UX component
Preferred Qualifications
Software development experience in Objective-C, Swift, and/or SwiftUI
Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
Strong problem solving, critical thinking and communications skills

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
